Artwork

The Photographs
Available as enlargements, currently up to 20 inches along the longest side, each photograph is printed in a variety of different sizes, substrates, and finishes specific to the imagery. An example of the different substrates that I currently work with are: photo papers; fine art metals; coated aluminum; coated rag and watercolor papers; card and poster stock; as well as a small selection of primed canvas, gallery wrapped or mounted.
I use a professional photo lab to print digital chromogenic photographs (digital c-prints) as well as some of the photographs printed onto coated aluminum, fine art metals, rag, and watercolor papers.
I use an HP B9180 professional medium format printer along with HP pigment inks to create my Signature Collection photographs, fine art photographs that are individually printed by me in my studio. Currently, Signature Collection photographs are open, but limited to editions of 10 prints per image annually, at up to 2 different sizes, unless specifically noted with the work.
All of my photographs are signed, titled, and dated on verso. Signature on recto is available by request.
Editions
I began selecting and creating editions for some of my work in August 2009. I’ve created Edition sizes that range from small: 1-5 printed photographs to basic: 25-250 printed photographs. Editions are numbered and I’ve also written a small, specific statement of limited production that is signed and provided with each artwork.
Archival Information
Archival ratings vary, however, in general, all of my photographs are created to last you at least a lifetime, regardless of substrate selection:
O Photo Paper | chemical (digital c-print): minimum 65 years.
O Photo Paper | inkjet (hp paper/hp ink): 100-200 years.
O Photo Paper | inkjet (other paper/hp ink): 80-? years.
O Rag Paper | inkjet (other paper/hp ink): 150-? years.
O Rag Paper | inkjet (other paper/hp ink/coated): 300-? years.
O Canvas | inkjet (primed/coated): 200-300 years.
O Metal | inkjet (primed/coated): 200- ? years.
*To preserve and conserve your artwork, its recommended to keep photographs away from high heat and direct sunlight, regardless of what substrate they are printed on or which glazing they are displayed behind.
Mounting
I ship most photographs to you flat, affixed to sturdy watercolor paper. The paper mount is used to hold the title, date, and my signature on the back (verso). If the paper is separated from the photograph for framing, it can still be framed with the photograph by placing it behind the hinged mat and mount.
Larger, flexible paper enlargements are hand-rolled and shipped in a tube, unless you’ve requested otherwise.
Permanent mounting is available, providing options such as birch, masonite, acrylic, museum board, finished gatorboard, or foamcore. Permanent mounts are an option if you live in a very humid climate or where hinged paper would otherwise cause ripples or curls to occur after framing and displaying. Permanent mounts offer the ability to float the artwork inside of a frame or the photograph could be mounted to a thicker board that doesn’t require the addition of a frame for the artwork to be displayed. This is not recommended or available for all artwork, specifically excluding Editions and the Signature Collection.
Please contact me if you would like to request a specific mount for the artwork you are purchasing.
Matting & Framing
Professional matting and framing services are no longer offered in the studio at this time.
Arrangements for professional matting and framing can be made on your behalf, which also include a forwarding service to your framer of choice. Please inquire for more information and rates.
