S. Migneco, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is a contemporary nature and landscape artist. She has an Associate Degree earned in the field of digital graphic art, has studied traditional black and white film photography and development, digital photography and asset management, and continues to study fine art painting and drawing through combined coursework and self-teaching. Her artwork is currently held in private collections within the United States.

Artist Statement

Using light and shadows to communicate a candid quality of elegance, I work in my studio and in the field to capture the details of both man-made and organic structures: the bend, the fold, the delicate spray of petals, the finished display of elegance. I find that the memories and unique character of each plant and flower, each tree and structure, are formed like a signature, and I work to reveal their qualities and gestures to the viewer as a narrative of the common, framed within the picture plane. My efforts are to create an image that portrays a pattern of delicate strength and enduring confidence, from the moment of capture to my final processing of the image, and into the finished piece of artwork.
